Help · Guide Canada
Guide Canada tells you what to do, in what order, to settle in Canada, for your province or territory and your situation.
Does the app work without Internet?
Yes. All content is inside the app. Only links to official websites need a connection.
Is my province or territory covered?
Yes: all 13 provinces and territories, with their steps and emergency numbers. To change province: My file, then My situation.
My city is not on the list
Your checklist still applies: it depends on your province, not your city. You can look at the nearest city, call 211 to find services near you, or tap “Request my city” to write to us.
Where is my information?
On your phone, and only there. My file is encrypted by the phone and can be protected with Face ID, fingerprint or passcode. There is no account and no online backup on our side. My file cannot be recovered if you uninstall the app or change phones. Your checklist and settings may come back through your phone’s backup, if it is turned on. See the privacy policy.
How do I erase everything?
In the app: More, then Erase my data. This cannot be undone.
I do not get reminders
Reminders need notification permission. If you declined it, turn it on for Guide Canada in your phone’s settings.
I found an error or a broken link
Write to us and tell us which step or city it is. Every piece of information shows its source and the date it was checked (More, then Sources): when in doubt, the official organization has the final word.
An emergency?
Call 911. The app’s Emergency tab also lists the other key numbers for your province or territory, even without Internet.
